As a qualified financial consultant and Associate of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (ACSI), I bring a rigorous, credentials-backed approach to cross-border financial planning for expatriates living in Thailand and across the wider region.

Based in Bangkok, my work at Soteria Trusts centres on helping internationally mobile clients — particularly UK expatriates and those with UK financial ties — structure their finances efficiently, minimise their tax liabilities, and put in place the kind of robust estate and succession planning that gives both them and their families genuine long-term security.

My three core areas of specialism at Soteria Trusts are pension planning and structuring, UK inheritance tax planning, and trust and estate planning. For many expatriates living in Thailand, these three areas are deeply interconnected. A poorly structured pension can create unnecessary UK tax exposure at retirement; assets held without a trust or estate plan can lead to significant IHT liabilities or complications for loved ones across different jurisdictions. My role is to look at each client’s position as a whole and build a plan that addresses all of these dimensions in a coordinated, tax-efficient way.

Soteria Trusts gives me access to a comprehensive range of solutions — from discretionary trust structures and QNUPS and asset protection strategies — which means I can recommend solutions that are genuinely tailored to each client’s circumstances rather than constrained by a limited product shelf. For clients with UK property, pension assets, or family members in the UK, ensuring those assets are structured correctly from a UK IHT perspective is often one of the most urgent and impactful conversations we can have.

Beyond the technical work, I believe strongly in transparency and integrity in everything I do. Clients should always understand what they own, why it is structured the way it is, and what the plan looks like going forward. I also serve as Vice Chair of the British Chamber of Commerce Thailand in Hua Hin, which keeps me closely connected to the expatriate community and the evolving landscape of financial and regulatory issues affecting UK nationals living in Thailand.

If you are an expatriate in Thailand looking to review your pension arrangements, reduce your UK tax exposure, or put a proper estate plan in place, I would be very happy to have an initial conversation.
