My career has taken me from the property market in the UK to the financial centres of Europe and Asia — and the thread running through all of it has been a genuine love of building relationships and opening doors.

I started out in estate agency in the UK, where I developed an early instinct for understanding what people really want from a significant financial decision and how to guide them through it with confidence. In the mid-1990s, the pull of an international career proved too strong to resist, and I moved overseas — first to Germany, then the Netherlands — before eventually settling in Hong Kong in 2004. It is a city that has never stopped feeling like an opportunity, and one I am proud to call home.

My path into financial services came through a combination of consulting and a deep immersion in Hong Kong’s trust and insurance landscape. I worked with an independent Hong Kong trustee company, gaining first-hand experience of how trust structures are built, managed, and used to protect wealth across generations. I also qualified and registered with the Hong Kong Confederation of Insurance Brokers, which gave me a solid technical grounding in insurance planning and its role in a well-rounded wealth protection strategy. That combination — property instincts, trust knowledge, and insurance fluency — gives me an unusually broad perspective on the challenges clients bring to Soteria.

Today, my role at Soteria Trusts is business development, and it is where I have always been at my best. I am a people person in the truest sense — I lead with passion and compassion, and I believe that the best client relationships are built through conversation, not correspondence. I am rarely far from a phone, and I make no apology for being old school in that regard. In an industry where trust is everything, there is no substitute for talking to people—understanding their situation, their concerns, and what they are really trying to achieve—before anything else happens.
